What I Eat in a Day #3

Hey hey hey! So I am heading back to school for my third year of college… yikes I feel so old! In exactly a week I will be heading to my classes for the first time. Junior year will be really stressful and hard, academic wise, but I hope to make many friends and enjoy my last few years as a college student. Today I wanted to eat super healthy because tomorrow I have a doctor’s appointment and I do not want to feel embarrassed about getting on a scale. I know a day won’t do much, but I rather eat super healthy and not have any regrets about what I had put in my mouth the previous day. Here is what I ate today!


Quaker Dinosaur Egg Oatmeal

1 Banana with 2 tbs. of peanut butter


Handful of cashews and a cup of popcorn


Baked apples with cinnamon tortilla crisps


1 banana with 1 tbs. of peanut butter


Meat and spinach lasagna




21st Birthday Party for Girls Ideas!

Hey guys! So as a college student, 21st birthdays are a very, very big deal! One of my best friends is turning 21 in December and I am making myself the honorary party thrower. I only have some ideas planned out now, but I wanted to share them with you so you can give some insight and feedback!

So with my friends it has kind of been a tradition to eat cheese fondue at Gustav’s and I am pretty sure we are still doing that! I mean who wouldn’t want to eat warm, cheesy fondue in the bitter winter? My recommendation is to get the pesto fondue 🙂

She lives in a cabin in the middle of the woods, so it’s a cool getaway area that is perfect for the party. I want it to be a surprise party, so my idea is to decorate her downstairs while she’s out of the house; hopefully she will be working so my friends and I can decorate. Then we can all meet at Gustav’s and drive to her place after dinner. Then when she goes downstairs she can see all the decorations, food, and gifts ready for her!

For food, since we will be eating dinner out, I thought desserts and little snacks would be a good idea for a fun movie night (which is most likely what we will be doing). Since she will be turning 21, I thought drunken donuts would be a fun treat. These are some pictures I have found for inspiration for bacon maple glazed bourbon donuts :

I’m not really a pro mixologist, but one of my friends is pretty good, so I’ll let her take care of the drinks. In addition to donuts, I thought a popcorn bar would be a super cute idea. She has a popcorn maker, so maybe her mom can pop the popcorn a few minutes before we get to her house so the popcorn is fresh! Some ideas for the popcorn bar include:


Mixed nuts, M&Ms, mini Reese’s, crushed Oreo’s,  marshmallows, graham crackers, crushed pretzels, and shredded coconut.

As for decorations, I want to go all out! I want balloons galore, accessories for her, a photo booth, and banners. Here are some photos that have inspired me for the decor:

I really like the idea of a photo booth! I think the background will be made of streamers or wrapping paper. For the balloons, I want giant number 2 and number 1 balloons to make a 21. I want the banner to say “Happy 21st Birthday!”, and I want it to be above the food.


These are some accessories for my friend that she can wear all night. I’m thinking about giving her these right when we meet so she can wear them at Gustav’s. HAHAHA *evil laugh

As for presents I kind of already know what I want to give her. We both are huge Dylan O’Brien fans, and she is a movie fanatic, so I will be giving her “The First Time” movie starring Dylan O’Brien and Britt Robertson. If you haven’t seen this movie, you seriously need to watch it ASAP!! It’s like a magical movie.In addition to the movie, I want to make a personal gift for her. Scrapbooks are always a thoughtful idea, so I will be making her one. I’ve known her since we were 14, so it will bring back a lot of memories. I will sporadically insert new blog posts on the works of her birthday, and will post everything I create for her. I think this party will be amazing! I hope I can afford all this… haha



Bucket List: 21 Things I want to do before I Turn 21 <3

Hello all! Sorry it’s been so long!! 😦

So I was thinking what I wanted my next post to be, and I decided that I should make a bucket list of 21 things I want to do before I turn 21 which will be in July 2016. I have a little less than 11 months to complete these 21 things, but hopefully I can do it all!

Bucket List:

  1. Go horseback riding
  2. Go rock climbing
  3. Sing karaoke
  4. Bake a dish for Thanksgiving/Christmas party
  5. Hike up Multnomah Falls
  6. Go to a movie premier (I’m thinking Mockingjay part 2)
  7. Be a vegetarian for a month
  8. Finish reading all 7 Harry Potter books
  9. Be able to do 50 push ups without taking a break in between
  10. Dance in the rain
  11. Make a cake from scratch
  12. Surprise someone
  13. Swim in a waterfall
  14. Get a manicure
  15. Finish all levels of Duolingo in Spanish
  16. Take an exercise class
  17. Have a picnic
  18. Work in a restaurant
  19. Create a scrapbook
  20. Get a henna tattoo
  21. Go ice skating/rollerblading

I think this list is pretty good! Hopefully I can complete all of these tasks by the time I turn 21! Let me know if you have any ideas that would go in your bucket list!



Boys of Zummer Concert!

Hey ya’ll! So it’s been a hot minute since I last posted something, but I thought I would talk about my experience at the Boys of Zummer concert featuring Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa. I can sum it up in three words: IT WAS AWESOME! It was at the Amphitheater in Ridgefield, WA and the venue was outside. It was the perfect location for a summer concert. I went with my two friends from high school and it was the perfect weather too!

The concert started with a upcoming singer named MAX. He seemed super excited and energetic! Not my favorite performance, but I was pretty impressed with his vocal range! The next act was Hoodie Allen! I know only two of his raps but I thought he did a really good job! It was super cool seeing him live.


The next performance was by Wiz Khalifa! He sang/rapped for about an hour and a half and all of his songs were about smoking weed. Haha I was impressed that all of his songs involved smoking! Like that’s pretty challenging to accomplish! However, he seemed super happy (and high) and wanted everyone to have a good time!

I thought Wiz did a great job and I didn’t think Fall Out Boy could make the concert any better. Well, I was wrong! I had never knew Pete Wentz was so adorable until I saw him live. He is actually so cute and sweet and has the cutest smile!! Okay enough about him. Patrick Stump is the lead vocalist and I thought he did amazing! He sounded exactly the same as the studio version. Their concert was so impressive and fun! I didn’t care if I was dancing stupidly, it was a blast!

After the concert we went to Shari’s and I got the s’mores galore pie. It was the perfect way to end the night!



What I Eat in A Day #2


So it’s been so long since I’ve been here, but I am excited to be back in action for the second installment of what I eat in a day! I have been trying to eat super healthy the past few days in preparation for the Boys of Zummer concert featuring Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa. I’m excited for my concert post that will come next! The concert is on Saturday so get excited!

Anyway back to food: today I ate pretty well and I tried to resist temptations. I recently bought peanut butter, but I am trying not to open it until Thursday when I make a peanut butter sandwich for work. I am also planning on keeping the peanut butter at work so that I don’t eat it by the spoonfuls, which I know I will do once I open it!

Here is what I ate today:


Banana oat pancakes with strawberries

Snack 1:



Mango and strawberry fruit salad and cashews

Snack 2:

8 whole wheat crackers

I’d say that this day was successful! I feel lighter and healthier already! Hopefully I can keep it up.



What I Eat in a Day

There is a Fall Out Boy concert that I will be going to on August 1st, and since it will be hot, I want to look my best in my crop top and high waisted shorts. Ever since my finals spring term back in the beginning of June, my eating habits have been really poor, and I want to get on track on eating right and eating when I am hungry.

I have a part time job three days a week and I eat normal amounts of food during those days; however, the other four days of the week, I am vacuuming out my pantry and fridge. I have come to realize that I have no self control over food… it’s sad but true.

So, I’ve decided to make a “What I Eat in a Day” post once a week to see my progress to being a healthier eater. I think I will do it every Monday because that will make me look forward to Mondays!

Let’s do this!

After typing all this out, I am not sure if I eat a lot or if I eat a regular amount. This day I tried to eat less and healthy. Haha I guess I shouldn’t eat so much in the morning, but I feel like I need to eat everything at once when I wake up!

FYI I am 5 ft tall 🙂



The Start of Something New!

My name is Jessica, and I am a 20 year old college student at University of Oregon. I love my Ducks and I love my food. I have watched The Food Network since I was in middle school and I usually watch it daily being constantly mesmerizSenior Picturesed by the yumminess. I mostly like making desserts, breakfast foods, and frying everything I can think of!

On top of my love for food, I love Disney (can you tell by the HSM title?), going on adventures, watching Youtube beauty videos, going to Ducks and Blazers games, and being with my friends and my crazy Filipino family.

I am new to this blog thing, so bear with me, but I am excited for this journey of being a food and lifestyle blogger!
